Thanksgiving is a celebratory holiday for many; a time to gather with family and friends while expressing gratitude for everything that has happened in the past year. However, Thanksgiving has a complicated history, and for many Native Americans it is a national day of mourning. Observance this year is even more complicated due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
