Cindy Meehl, prod. Elizabeth Westrate) is having its world premiere. And THE SHADOW SCHOLARS (dir. Eloïse King) is having its North American Premiere. Also, look out for MAINTENANCE ARTIST, AN EYE FOR AN EYE, BACKSIDE, and I WAS BORN THIS WAY, which were produced and/or directed by filmmakers who are alum of the Production Assistance Program. And a shout-out to THE INQUISITOR, a new film directed by Angela Tucker, who produced WMM release BELLY OF THE BEAST.  21 WMM Films and Filmmakers Head to DC:DOX June 2025 will mark the third edition of DC/DOX, a major international film festival in the U.S. capital. WMM Award Goes to BEFORE THE FEAST at DocsBarcelona We are pleased to announce that Rajani Mani has received this year's Women Make Movies Award at DocsBarcelona for her moving new project, BEFORE THE FEAST. Set in the tidal wetlands of Cochin, the film follows an aging farmer fighting to preserve a rare salt-resistant grain as climate change and personal tragedy threaten his legacy. The WMM Award is presented to the best project by a woman director pitched during Industry Days and includes acceptance into our Production Assistance Program, a one-year webinar subscription, and customized mentorship support. This marks the second year of the award at DocsBarcelona, following last year's recognition of CONFESSIONS OF A FEMALE GAMER by Doyla Gavanski.
