Documentary Proposal Writing Basics
& Film Funder Overview
Wednesday, June 22nd | 6:30pm
Tracie Holder
Film Finance Consultant
Grant Writer, Producer
As film funding becomes increasingly competitive and more filmmakers enter our ranks with each passing day, how will you make your grant application grab a funder's attention? Proposal writing is a skill, equal parts art and science. Join us to learn these essentials skills and build your confidence so you can put your best foot forward and make your proposal stand out in a crowd. In this workshop, we'll cover the essentials of grant-writing, do a quick tour of the major film funders, review what they fund, how best to approach them, and how to avoid common mistakes. We'll also discuss the importance of relationship building, the foundation of all fundraising. Presenting this workshop is Tracie Holder, filmmaker, fundraiser and consultant to WMM's Production Assistance Program. Holder has raised $2 million for her own film projects from a mix of government agencies, private foundations and individuals.

This is our last workshop of the season.
Be sure not miss out on how you can craft a winning proposal, stand out from the crowd, and get funding!
