Smoother Sailing ......

Dear Rehearsal Club Alum:
As many of you remember, our current Vice Chair was diagnosed with breast cancer about 7 months ago.  Many of us followed her progress through her periodic Caring Bridge posts and were thrilled to read her recent post.  We'd like to share the good news and encourage you to buy those scarves!

Hi dear family and friends -

This update can finally be described as "smoother sailing"  with the end of chemotherapy infusions and initial reconstruction surgery done.     I'm still working through lousey chemically induced symptoms and adjusting to oral chemo that will be a regimen for the new me going forward.

It has been a 7 month "project," so the challenge is to try to get back in step by the end of the year.    You guys have been so great - my incredible support team during some rough times for which I will be forever grateful.

Since everybody knows women facing a similar situation, I want to take this opportunity to let you know about a wonderful non-profit organization called Hope Scarves.     Female survivors donate their head scarves to this grass roots support organization, that are beautifully and professionally restored as a gift of hope for another woman facing similiar  challenges.    My niece Patty sent me a lovely scarf which introduced me to the company and we are now presently featured in their June 2015 newsletter!

Consider sending a scarf to a friend or relative.

Finally, I don't know how to adequately express my thanks to you except I am so sincerely grateful for your thoughts, prayers, messages, tireless attention and the copious amounts of spoiling I've received.   Every person is different -- but for me, the knowledge that you were there carried my spirit through various trials and tribulations with flags waving.  WE did it together guys!

I hope there will be nothing but good news going forward.  Working hard on growing hair!  That said, I love and thank you precious village.
