From the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of Crimes of the Heart, comes the breathtaking tall tale of Bess and Macon, two mail-order brides lured to the plains of Wyoming by the promise of new beginnings. Beth Henley's fierce and funny adventure spans a 25 year friendship as wild and unpredictable as the untamed West itself, unearthing along the way, the dark underside of American mythology and the unbreakable bonds of female friendship.

Victor is a ruthless fashion designer in the 1970s at the top of his game. Esme, his glamorous protégé and muse, is pushed aside when an ordinary Southern woman inspires Victor to make his artistry accessible to the masses. A generation later, a woman grappling with a healthy dose of self-loathing must wrestle her own family demons to find her way through the world of fashion that won't give a woman her size a second look. Skipping back and forth in time, Everything You Touch is a viciously funny look at the struggle to find an identity that's more than skin deep.

There is a new immersive realm for the senses online, a virtual playground where those who plug in are coaxed into acting out their darkest fantasies--with no consequences in the "real" world. Or so it seems... until a young female detective begins an investigation to determine if there is a point at which thought or intention may actually constitute a crime within--and outside of--this new frontier.
Winner of the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize, Jennifer Haley's The Nether is a haunting thriller that will make you question when the fantastic becomes too real.

Join us for a unique opportunity to participate in making musical theatre! In our 4×15 series, we showcase four new shows by up-and-coming writers in four 15-minute staged presentations. Each creative team will have 5 hours to workshop the strongest (or most troublesome) excerpt of their piece. A cast of MTF volunteer performers will then have 15 minutes to present each excerpt before an audience and a panel of industry professionals. The audience is invited to offer supportive feedback to the writers and creative teams. Come enjoy a refreshment at the Factory, and get in on the creative process!
If your production (no readings, free events) has a creative team (writers, directors, designers) of at least 50% women and has a run of at least two weeks in a New York City venue, we would love to include it and maybe even bring our group to see it!
