Sylvia Sleigh's Solo Exhibition at Ortuzar Gallery in Tribeca.

Every leaf is precious has been heralded in publications such as The New York Times, Culture Magazine, Hyperallergic and Art Basel.

Writing of the painting "Annunciation," Jillian Steinhauer of the NYTimes says:

"It offers up both secularity and sensuality as something sacred — and perhaps androgyny too, given the floral background and luxuriant hair. The work is confrontational, but its style is suffused with loving attention. Sleigh captures an individual with skillful specificity, while also making them signify so much more."

Culture Magazine writes:

"Through her work, Sleigh bridges the historically distinct realms of portraiture and genre painting, asserting art history as a living, ongoing dialogue deeply bound in the lived experiences of her contemporaries."
