Join us for this special MasterClass, Emmy-award winning filmmakers Erika Cohn and Angela Tucker (director and producer, respectively, of the newly released film BELLY OF THE BEAST, which is on Variety's list of Oscar predictions). They will speak about their careers as directors and producers, previous films and how they financed and made them, how they got them out to the world through festivals, distribution and impact/engagement campaigns, who they partnered with, and how to get those grants. Women Make Movies at Sundance

We are thrilled to see WMM filmmakers and program alums premiering six films and two VR projects at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival. FAYA DAYI, made with the support of WMM's Production Assistance Program, will have its world premiere at the festival as well as USERS by Natalia Almada, whose films EL GENERAL and ALL WATER HAS A PERFECT MEMORY are distributed by WMM. Also premiering are AILEY (Producer, Lauren DeFilippo), AT THE READY (Maisie Crow), TRY HARDER (Producer, Nico Opper), and PRESIDENT (Camilla Nielsson). Michèle Stephenson, director of WMM's newest release STATELESS, will be premiering her latest VR project: THE CHANGING SAME: EPISODE 1, and Grace Lee (dir. THE GRACE LEE PROJECT) will also be showcasing her latest VR projecBEYOND THE BREAKDOWN at the festival as well. Both projects can be viewed on-demand throughout the duration of the festival with the purchase of a pass.

New Release! STATELESS is Now Available for Screenings!

Winning Best Feature Documentary at BlackStar Film Festival, Special Jury Prize at Hot Docs, amongst others, WMM newest release STATELESS, directed by Panamanian-Haitian filmmaker and Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences member Michèle Stephenson, reveals the depths of racial hatred and institutionalized oppression that divide Haiti and the Dominican Republic. We are excited to announce that STATELESS is now available to purchase and book for screenings.

This year, 93 international features and a record 238 documentaries are eligible for the Oscars. Included are WMM new releases CODED BIAS (dir. Shalini Kantayya) and BELLY OF THE BEAST (dir. Erika Cohn & prod. Angela Tucker), films made with the support of our Production Assistance program: Venezuela's official selection, ONCE UPON A TIME IN VENEZUELA (dir. Anabel Rodriguez Ríos), Kenya's official selection, THE LETTER (dir. Maia Lekow & Christopher King), MR. SOUL! (dir. Melissa Haizlip), THE FIGHT (dir. Elyse Steinberg), and new films from program alums: Dick Johnson is Dead (dir. Kirsten Johnson), JOHN LEWIS: GOOD TROUBLE (dir. Dawn Porter), amongst many others. Best of luck to all! WMM Seeks Administrative & Finance Manager

WMM seeks an Administrative & Finance Manager with exceptional administrative and organizational skills to manage the organization's overall finances, human resources, and office admin, including facilities and IT (thru vendor). This position will work closely with the ED and staff to ensure that strong operational systems are in place. The ideal candidate for this position has significant experience in arts and/or non-profit management but is also knowledgeable of business or earned-income organizations.
