Shriekfest
Shriekfest is a festival dedicated to getting horror/thriller/scifi/fantasy filmmakers and screenwriters the recognition they deserve. The festival is held in Los Angeles at the world famous Raleigh Studios! Shriekfest has a NEW category and we are very excited about it: Demo Reels. Most industry people have a demo reel and many have trouble getting people to watch it. This new category allows industry people to judge it and then the top demo reels will screen at the festival! We will be awarding prizes to the winning filmmaker in each category.

The Saari Residence is a tranquil facility and a fruitful meeting point for artists and researchers. The Saari Residence offers Finnish and non-Finnish artists, critics and translators the chance to work intensively for a period of two months in a relaxed countryside setting from September to April.

- When: Spring, autumn and winter are reserved for individual artists working in four two-month periods while the summer, from May to August, is reserved for intensive group work. During the spring and autumn, there are usually nine residency guests at a time at four different periods, and during the summer all premises are reserved for groups. During the individual residencies, the Saari Residence’s invited artist is also in residence from September until the end of April.
- Eligibility: Individual residencies are intended for individual artists, translators and critics of all disciplines and all nationalities. Group residencies are intended for collectives, such as community and environmental artists, and independent theatre groups. Especially welcome are applications for projects involving co-operation between Finnish and foreign artist groups.
