Tisa Chang directs this re-imagining of the epic musical of US military in post-WWII Japan. This production highlights the all female Takarazuka dance theater and how compassion and love can heal prejudice despite the inevitable collision of two disparate, codified cultures.

After a sold out pilot run on the Lower East Side last summer,  we are joined this summer by co-producers Rhythms over Beats and in partnership with the Harlem Arts Festival and National Black Theatre to explore the neighborhood between the bustling, buzzing, famous 125th street all the way down to the quiet edges of  of Marcus Garvey Park. Come See! Come see!

BROKEN CITY is a love letter to the city. Real life and theatre collide in this "street immersive" that invites 9 audience members at a time to navigate broken trails of stories and follow the characters who populate a few blocks of this famed and fabled neighborhood of Manhattan.  This year the team is joined by Harlem artists Sandra Daley and Ebony Golden.
