"For those of you just tuning in, Thanksgiving is already in progress here at Wembly kitchen.  The stands are nice and full, it's quite a crowd that's gathered.  They're in for a real treat."

A New York Times Critic's Pick! "Spectacularly inventive! Ms. Benson, the playwright, is fearless and remarkably assured in this dizzyingly entertaining work, which the program describes as her first full production. And the direction of Ms. Evans unfurls it on the Dixon Place stage with wit and verve, conjuring the story - the preparation and serving of a gigantic family dinner - without so much as a salad plate in sight."

Can the love of two women survive the black-white divide? In 1939 London, male impersonator Miss Jimmie LeRoy and pianist Claire Hicks have lived, loved, and performed together for 3 years. The gathering storm of war and a letter from home plummet them into the harsh reality of returning to a segregated U.S. As they pack to leave, the specters of exile and hatred make the very dream of their love seem impossible. Starring Margaret Morrison and Ava Jenkins, directed by Cheryl King.

"A well-constructed blend of courage, love, rebellion and self-preservation"
